BORN OF THE SPIRIT OF GOD

You have the Victory

The victory is to remember how the Lord Jesus defeated the Devil – by speaking the word of God.

1)      You must believe that you are born again by the Spirit of the living God, and no more a sinner.  “As many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God.  Even to them that believe on his name” (Jn 1:12).  If you have not been born again, and you desire to be, pray to Jesus thus:

“Lord Jesus, I accept you as my Lord and my Savior and that you died for me on the cross to redeem me from destruction. I ask you now Lord to give me the new birth by the Spirit of God as your word said ‘except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God’. Live your life through me Jesus.  I am yours from today.  Amen.”

It’s a prayer of sincere commitment to follow Jesus.

Make this commitment if you have not done that before.  Many people join religion and church without commitment to Christ Jesus. But the true disciple must start with the commitment to follow and obey Christ.

Henceforth, BELIEVE that you are born again and walk according to this vocation.  When Jesus touches someone with the born-again experience, “old things are passed away and all things become new”. (2Cor.5:17).

The world may be full of impurities but “they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts” (Gal. 5:24). “Likewise, reckon ye yourself to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Rom.6:11).

We don’t have to isolate ourselves in the jungle to avoid the world. However, it is still our responsibility to “abstain from all appearance of evil”. (1Thes.5:22).

Think of those polutions such as pornography as pooh or stool. If a sane person goes to toilet and see pooh not flushed in the toilet, he will hold his nose and turn his eyes away, or walk away real fast. You should see those given to such trash as insane, just as there are insane people in psychiatric institutions that actually eat their own pooh like animals.

2)      “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith” (1 Jn 5:4).  Just as Christ overcame the Devil, we have overcome the Devil and the world.  What we must do consistently is to “Resist the devil steadfastly in the faith”.  Speak the word of God that rebukes the sin, to yourself, to the air, to the people, to your mind – whereever the source of the temptation consistently and then move away. “He that is born of God does not commit sin”.  “We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not” (1Jn5:18).

3)      Remember that we are soldiers of the cross.  As soldiers, the battle is on!  Many still think of the soldier life as if in the barracks with just exercises and drills.  But when the soldier is shipped to the war-front, he cannot complain that the arrows and bullets are constantly coming at him.  He is to fight back to keep himself alive, and not become a prisoner of war.  The war is on from the first day we say “we do” to Jesus.  Therefore the pollutions of the world are part of the arrows of the enemy.  “He that overcometh shall inherit all things and I will be his God, and he shall be my son”, saith the Lord God Almighty. (Rev.21:7).
