Where is your Faith –5

(From a radio broadcast of Bro, Julius Adewumi)

We are talking about faith for salvation, faith for healing, faith for supernatural protection, etc., until we shall reach the faith for translation.

Apostle John wrote, "That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the word of life" (1Jn.1: 1).

Similarly I said in the earlier broadcast, "we have searched this thing, and it is so; know it for your own good".

Faith for controlling elements:

When the apostles were called one by one by the Lord Jesus, each one found his friend and told him, "we have found the Messiah", or "we have found the man of whom Moses wrote". They were calling their friends to come and meet the man of whom Moses wrote. You may ask, whom have they found? They found the supernatural power, the spiritual life that was reported to them long time ago, about men of old through whom supernatural things took place. They have heard the story of Elijah the prophet. They have heard all those things, which happened in the days of the fathers. It was like a tale to them. They also heard that the Messiah would come and bring those things back to life. The Messiah would bring the power back to mankind. They were hoping that one day this Messiah would come. Now they found him! The same Spirit that gave mankind the supernatural power suddenly manifested to mankind in the form of a human being. That was what they have found! "Whose going forth has been from of old, from everlasting". (Micah 5:2b). It’s worth calling friends to come and see.

This is why Apostle John said "that which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us". It means we have tasted this thing, and it is so. We want you to come and taste the goodness of the Lord also and begin to fellowship with this same power.

I’ll read it to you: (Jn.1:43-45) "The day following Jesus would go forth into Galilee, and findeth Philip, and saith unto him, Follow me. Now Philip was of Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter. Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph."

Whom did he say they have found? Whom Moses wrote about! What did Moses write? That a prophet will come who will bring back the power of God to the people, who will bring them back to God. He wrote that God would raise up a prophet like unto him – a deliverer. Moses wrote again that "the Stone of Israel" would come, in the book of Genesis. (Gen. 49: 24).

John’s epistle indicated that the life has manifested. The Lord Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life". The life that they have heard, which men of old lived and pleased God, and supernatural things plus amazing miracles happened in their lifetime, the same life has manifested. How did they get this power? They followed a person, a Spirit, and this person is the life. A lifestyle is not just a vague choice. You are actually following some personalities invisible, whether you know it or not! But the better life lived by the holy men of old is also a lifestyle, and they actually were following the only personality who can give the life and the power. This personality Spirit has manifested to mankind again in the physical body as the Lord Jesus Christ. He that believeth in him shall be saved, and mighty signs shall follow the believer. That is the life which the Apostles found and were calling their friends to come and see.

Yea, I tell you also that the Spirit who gave power to holy men of old and wonders were done in God’s name, has manifested to mankind in the Lord Jesus Christ calling men unto him. Jesus said, "Come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon thee, and learn of me, for I am meek and lowly in heart, and ye shall find rest for your soul. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."

The one and only true God is the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel. This true God manifested to mankind in a body as the Lord Jesus Christ, calling men unto him. The life which men like Enoch lived so that he disappeared from this planet because God took him that he should not see death, this same life has manifested to mankind. A chariot of fire came down and took Elijah the prophet away from this planet. He must have been living a life that pleased heaven, for a chariot of fire to come down and take him out of here! Now, that life actually is a personality, a Spirit. That life that was leading him, that made him to live a special lifestyle, has manifested in the Lord Jesus Christ. He said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life!" This "life" that can take you away from here without seeing physical death has manifested again. He said, "verily, verily, I say unto you. If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death". (Jn.8:51). This is what the Apostles were talking about when they said, "we have tasted it, we have touched it, and we want to show it unto you, that you also may have fellowship with us." The apostles laid down their lives to pass this message unto us. That was how sure they were of the Messiah, whom they have followed. Though they did not receive the climax of the faith, yet Apostle Peter wrote about "the salvation ready to be revealed in the last time", "of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently", "unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you". (1 Pet.1:3-12). Apostle Paul also wrote that "the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body." (Rom.8:23).

"For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;

That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ." (1Jn.1: 2-3).

We have searched these things, and so it is. It’s only in Jesus Christ that we can get this faith that can build us from salvation unto translation. The faith for healing, for casting out devils, for controlling the elements and for supernatural protection, is in Jesus Christ.

The climax of our faith is for us to get the anointing to translate as reported that Elijah the prophet was appearing and disappearing, until the chariot of fire came and took him away. (1Kgs.18: 12). I will show you in the scriptures later how the Lord Jesus was using the same power when he was preaching, before he was crucified. After his resurrection it became the normal thing for him to walk through walls, and for him to appear in the midst of the disciples without opening the door. That is the climax of our faith. However, the little faith you have for salvation is what must be built upon unto higher level. Christ said, "where is your faith?" We ought to be applying our faith in all spheres of life.

Faith for healing of our body is also by applying faith in the words of the Lord, just as salvation is obtained when we believed the report that Christ died for our sins. "As many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name."

When situation arises and someone needs healing, believe in the word, and lay your hand upon the sick as the scripture said. Doubt not! Why will you doubt? Are you doubting if the Lord is able to do what he said he will do, that the signs shall follow them that believe in him? Or are you doubting whether you are actually following him? What are you doubting? Obey the scriptures, and confidently lay your hands upon the sick, praying with the same bible verse. Make sure you have been saved from your sins, and then abide in him. "If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. (Jn.15:7).

Faith has been given to us, and we can also use the same faith to control the weather, to control the nature, to control all the natural occurrences. Remember in Genesis chapter one, the plan of God for mankind was explained in the book of Genesis. (Gen 1:26). Here is what the Lord said when he was making mankind: "And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth."

Do you hear that? "Over all the earth!" It means man is to control whatever natural occurrence may hamper the peace on earth. By the loss of the heritage in Adam, man lost the spiritual power to control these things from the spirit. Therefore man has since resorted to physical measures of controlling whatever can be controlled from the physical. But Christ has redeemed mankind and when we are joined to Christ we can now use our Christ-given faith to control the natural elements from the spirit like the Lord Jesus demonstrated upon the sea. (Lk.8:25).

Lo this, we have searched it, so it is; hear it, and know thou it for thy good.
