(From radio broadcast of Bro. Julius Adewumi)
Today I am continuing in the book of Revelations
chapter 11. We went to revelations chapter 11 in the last broadcast. In verse
one of chapter 11 we talked about the two witnesses, the two prophets God said
he would send: Moses and Elijah. In verse 5 he mentioned how these two prophets
would do their witnessing for Jesus among the Jews. If you want to listen to
that first sermon you can write and I will send you a CD or tape.
(Rev.11: 4)
“These are the two olive trees and the
two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.” I explained in verse one of chapter eleven that these two olive
trees were symbolizing the two prophets that were standing before the Lord
Jesus Christ when he was on the mount of transfiguration with the apostles. (
Lk.9:28-36; Mt.17:1-9) . When Jesus took Peter, James, and John up the mountain
and transfigured before them. They said they saw Moses and Elijah, who came
down and were talking with the Lord Jesus Christ. They thought they were
talking about the crucifixion that would take place in Jerusalem. And I said in
the last broadcast that God also was giving them their new assignments.
V.5: “If any
man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth and devoureth their
enemies. And if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed. These
have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy; and have
power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all
plagues as often as they will.”
In fact God is
going to unleash these two prophets upon the world. Let them loose and let them
do whatever they want to do. Prophets preach against ungodliness; In this
generation we preach and preach, maybe we haven’t been bringing judgment on
people. But God is going to let loose these prophets of old time, remember they
are old time prophets and look at the law of Moses: if anybody does this they
should be killed like this. If anybody does that they should be killed like
that. They were following the law. They were not like in the days of our Lord
Jesus Christ where if they slapped you on one cheek you would turn the other.
But God said he was gong to bring these two prophets back. They will only know
the old testament but they will point the Jews to the Messiah. Some of them
will believe and be saved; the others will not believe and will be punished
with the rest of the unbelievers in the world.
As these prophets have holy anger against
ungodliness, and wrath against iniquity, they will bring judgment upon the
Sodomites and the ungodly, and upon nations that are disobedient to the word of
God. They have power to shut heaven so
that there be no rain upon any land as they will. They have power over waters to turn waters to blood like Moses did in
Egypt, and to smite the land with all plagues as often as they will.
V.7:
“And when they would have finished their testimonies, the beast that
shall come from the bottomless pit shall make war against them and overcome
them.”
That means, the ruler that will sign a pact
between the Jews and the Arabs, the West and the East, perhaps through the
United Nations, will bring the police or the military against these two
prophets to arrest and kill them. The bible said they would be killed, but that
was only after they had finished their testimonies.
And why would the Lord allow them to be
killed? There is a purpose for this, which I will reveal in a moment. The
reason that God would allow them to be killed is for fulfillment of prophecy. This
is part of the ordinance to take over the earth, and the ordinance to rebuild
the earth. And if you are a bible scholar and you do not know it, I will refer
you to it in a moment.
I said there is a reason and a purpose
why God is going to allow these two prophets to be killed. Remember the Lord
Jesus Christ also was killed for the testimony he came to bear. His blood was a
sacrifice for mankind. He was not just killed because he couldn’t overcome
them, the Lord allowed himself to be killed
for a purpose. The same way these two prophets are going to be allowed
to be killed for another purpose of God. Just like the Lord Jesus Christ redeemed
mankind, these two prophets are fulfilling a prophecy as part of rebuilding the
earth, part of the taking over of the earth.
In the book of Joshua we see a prophecy
that was spoken. Take note that the taking over of the land of Canaan by the Hebrews when they came out from Egypt has been preached by
many preachers that it actually symbolized how the world will be taken over by
God and by the people of God, the
Christians. The journey from Egypt to Canaan, when Moses led them out of Egypt
and brought them to the promised land, is a fore type of the deliverance of
the people of God from sin, to take us to heaven, and to take this earth back
again. It was a fore type of the Christian journey.
So when they first arrived in the land of Canaan
they came against the city of Jericho. When they were to take over the city of
Jericho remember the Angel of the Lord came down also with a sword in his hand
and told them the ordinance that they should use for taking over Jericho. He
said they should march around the city blowing trumpets once a day for seven
days. And on the seventh day seven times, and the city would fall. The seven trumpets, and the seventh day
seven times, symbolized the same thing
that happened in the book of Revelation. Here, it is the seven seals, and the
seventh seal opened the seven trumpets.
At the end of the seven trumpets, the seven vials. God has a reason for
doing everything! The Hebrews marched into Canaan land was signifying the Saints of God marching into the new
heaven and the new earth to take over this world for God.
Let me tell you the mystery of why
these two prophets have to die. When Joshua took over the city of Jericho and
it was destroyed, he put a curse on the land of Jericho. You can go and read it
yourself.
(Joshua
6:26) “And Joshua adjured them at that time, saying, Cursed be the man
before the Lord, that riseth up and buildeth this city Jericho: he shall lay
the foundation thereof in his firstborn, and in his youngest son shall he set
up the gates of it.”
It
says anyone who is going to rebuild this city shall lay the foundation of it on
his first born and will set the gates of it on his last born. Which means
anyone who will have to rebuild the city of Jericho will have to pay the price.
And the price for rebuilding that city was that his firstborn would die and the
last born of that man also will die. And that was prophesied in the book of
Joshua when they overthrew Jericho. Now the curse was fulfilled physically when
one man in the days of Ahab took the land and rebuilt the city of Jericho. He
rebuilt it in the days of the wicked King Ahab and the wicked Queen Jezebel.
And if you would look at that type, the wicked King Ahab and the wicked Queen
Jezebel were symbolizing the Jezebel of the end of the world also, which is a
false religion. King Ahab typified the King of the world at the end-time also, which
will be the antichrist ruler of the world. So when that man in the days of King
Ahab rebuilt Jericho he laid the foundation on his first born and he raised the
gates on his last born. It took place as
the fulfillment of prophecy when Joshua put a curse upon Jericho that whoever was going to rebuild it
would have to pay that price. It was in those days that Elijah the prophet
walked the earth. Behold, Elijah the
prophet will be back in this time also when the type is materializing. Amen!
(1Kgs.
16:33-34 ) “And Ahab made a grove; and Ahab did more to provoke the Lord God
of Israel to anger than all the kings of Israel that were before him.
In
his days did Hiel the Bethelite build Jericho: he laid the foundation thereof
in Abiram his firstborn, and set up the gates thereof in his youngest son
Segub, according to the word of the Lord, which he spake by Joshua the son of
Nun.”
God allowed the curse to be put on Jericho
because God is going to rebuild this earth and God is going to have to pay the
price of rebuilding this earth. And the price God has to pay is his firstborn:
His firstborn has to die, and that is the Lord Jesus Christ. To redeem this
earth he has to die and shed his blood. That was the purpose. But it was an
ordinance, a spiritual ordinance in heaven.
God said anyone who was going to rebuild this city (symbol of this
earth) must pay the price of his firstborn.
God himself is the One that is going to rebuild the earth. He paid the prize of his firstborn. Now, he has to also pay the prize of his
last born, according to the curse on Jericho.
And who is the last born? The Lord Jesus Christ expressed it when he was
on earth. He said, “He that is least in
the kingdom of God is greater than he (John the Baptist).” (Or Elijah the
prophet). The Lord told them that John
the Baptist was the Elijah promised to come.
John came in the spirit of Elijah.
The Lord meant that anyone that is least in the kingdom must have the anointing
level of Elijah the prophet.
We
can say the Elijah’s anointing or Elijah the prophet will be the lastborn of
the sons of the kingdom, while the Lord Jesus Christ is the first born.
Just
like the one that rebuild Jericho had to pay the prize of that curse, to
rebuild this earth, God has to pay the prize of his firstborn, the Lord Jesus
Christ, who shed his blood to redeem mankind: and his lastborn, Elijah the
prophet, and Moses also, because both of them were killed in this chapter 11 of
revelation. They will represent the
lastborn that would be killed to pay the prize of rebuilding the earth.
This is part of the mystery that God
said should be revealed at this end of the age. It’s been revealed to you right now as the Lord has revealed it
to me. This is why these two prophets had to die and why the Lord Jesus had to
die. They laid down their life for a
purpose. Not because their power
suddenly disappeared. Not that the
kingdom of this world could kill them.
Not because the antichrist could kill the two prophets. They had to lay down their life just as the
Lord Jesus Christ laid down his life to redeem mankind. Now you know the whole story.
(Rev.11: 8)“And their dead bodies shall
lie in the streets of that great city which spiritually is called Sodom and
Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified”.
We believe it will be Jerusalem, where the
Lord Jesus was also crucified.
V.9:
“And they of the people, and kindreds, and tongues and nations, shall
see their dead bodies three days and a half, and shall not suffer their dead
bodies to be put in graves”. Almost like the Lord Jesus Christ’s death
on the cross, and was laid in the grave for 3 days.
Remember again, we said the
foundation was laid in the firstborn: the gates were set up in the lastborn. Note:
the foundation is always buried under the earth, but the gate is always
laid on top of the earth. So you can
see, when the Lord Jesus Christ died, he had to be buried for three days, as he
himself said: “in the belly of the
earth”. But the gates will have to be
set up, not under the earth but on top of the earth. That is why those two prophets had to lay on the streets for
three days till they rose up again.
Men did not know what they are
doing. They thought they are having a
victory over some nutty prophets, but they were fulfilling prophecy, just like
the Lord Jesus said “Father forgive them, for they know not what they do”.
The
world will say “don’t let them be buried”, and they were displayed on
world-wide television for three days.
This will take place as written.
God himself has ordained it.
Whether men like it or not, it will take place just like God said,
because the finger of God is doing all these things. Fear before him all the earth!
Remember this! Since it’s God that is doing this, he will glorify his children. Like the Lord Jesus rose up by himself and
resurrected, these two prophets are going to rise up also.
V.10: “And they that dwell upon the
earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to
another, because these two prophets tormented them that dwell on the earth.”
They were still rejoicing, just like the
Jews that killed the Messiah. They
thought they got rid of him, “before things happen against us”. But they did not know what they were doing.
V.11: “And after three days and a half,
the spirit of life from God entered into them and they stood upon their feet;
and great fear fell upon them which saw them.
And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them Come up
hither. And they ascended up to heaven
in a cloud, and their enemies beheld them.
And
the same hour was there a great earthquake and the tenth part of the city fell,
and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand and the remnant were
affrighted and gave glory to the God of heaven.”
There may
have been many other preachers with varied interpretations for these chapters,
but the one I explained here is how the Lord has made me believe it. Some other preachers have given out
differing interpretations, even as weird as some saying the two witnesses are
representing “Jews” and “Christians” as
if to say all Christians will be killed.
Not so!
The Messiah had to die, and the Messiah is a single
person. He came to die as a single
person. The same way, these two
prophets will be individual people, not a group of believers. The bible also mentioned it here that “these
are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of
the earth.”
As I said in the beginning of this discussion, the
two olive trees represent the two prophets which stood before the Messiah on
the mount of transfiguration. They
stood before the God of the whole earth – Christ is the God of the whole earth. The two that were seen were Moses and
Elijah. That was where they got their
new assignments.
If you are blessed to understand this, it
will build up your faith. One more
thing: When the Lord Jesus Christ came, he was in Jerusalem, in Galilee, and in
all the neighboring cities. The rest of
the world did not know much about it.
You may say it looked like in a corner.
But it was not in a corner according to those who were around him. But it would not be in the worldwide evening
news. Similarly, those two prophets may
appear in Jerusalem and do their wonders.
It will only be in the news because the world is full of news now. If anything happens anywhere it can be
transmitted to anywhere by satellite television. However God works in simplicity.
Verse 13
is the end of the part the prophets played.
It said, “the second woe is past, and behold, the third woe cometh
quickly.”
The
manifestation of these prophets and all the wonders they will do is called a
“woe” upon the earth. God is going to
unleash these prophets, let them loose upon the earth to see the wrath of the
prophets. The ungodly world has been
preached to for 2000 years. The saints
have preached but we don’t call fire upon the unbelievers, because in Christ’s
dispensation “turn the other cheek”.
But in the dispensation of the old testament, they only know the law. They turn water to blood, stop rain over any
nation, over any land. They smite the
populace with plagues and pestilences at their command. That is why the bible called it “woe” upon
the earth. It is part of the plan of God to end the age.
V.15-19: “And the seventh angel sounded; and
there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are
become the kingdoms of our Lord and of his Christ: and he shall reign for ever
and ever.
And the four and twenty elders, which sat
before God on their seats, fell upon their faces and worshipped God. Saying, We give thee thanks, O Lord God
Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee
thy great power and hast reigned.
And the nations were angry and thy wrath is
come and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, ad that thou should
give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints and them that
fear thy name small and great, and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.”
That is the end of this chapter. When the elders said, “the kingdom of
this world have become the kingdom of our God and of his Christ”, that
is the taking over of the earth.
The four and twenty elders fell down and
worshipped. It means, “this is what
we have been waiting for!” God is now ready to take over. The ungodly governments have been running
this world for six thousand years. It
is time for God to stand up and take it back.
All we
have been describing is preliminary steps for the take over, setting the stage
for the world systems to self-destruct.
The four and twenty elders worshipped. This is what we have awaited for years. God will now take it over and give it back
to the saints. He will give the reward
to his servants the prophets, and he will destroy those that destroy the earth.
You that
read this, are you one of them that destroy the earth? You better repent! Those who are destroying the earth are the wicked, the ungodly,
those that have joined themselves to witchcraft and evil cults, murderers,
armed robbers, the sodomites, the sexual perverts. God will destroy them that destroy the earth. He will give reward to his saints, and the
scripture has said, “they that turn men to righteousness, shall shine as the
brightness of the firmament for ever and ever.”
This is
the promise of God. Do you want to be
one of the saints, accept the Lord Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Preach the word, willing to suffer for him
that you may reign with him.
If you
have accepted Jesus, begin to look up, because your redemption draweth
nigh. Submit to the Holy Ghost. He will guide you to all truth.
God bless you.

I want to thank those
that have been sending offering to this ministry. Your investment and mine send the literature to believers and
send the word on radio. That is one
sure way we can send our money ahead of us to heaven. The Lord said: "Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon
earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and
steal: But lay up for yourselves
treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where
thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will
your heart be also." (Mat. 6: 19-21).
"For we brought nothing into this world and it is certain we can
carry nothing out." (1Tim. 6: 7).
